Is One Week Realistic?
Yes — for ready children. "Done" after one week means reliably using the toilet for pee with minimal accidents. Bowel movements and overnight dryness typically take additional weeks.
Day-by-Day Plan
Days 1–3: Foundation (Stay Home)
Child stays pants-free or in loose underwear all day. Lead your child to the potty every 60–90 minutes — no asking, just walking them there. Watch closely for urgency signals (grabbing, dancing, squatting) and rush to the potty immediately. Celebrate every single success. Treat accidents with calm neutrality.
Days 4–5: Adding Clothing
Introduce training underwear. Continue timed trips. Practice pulling pants down quickly. Try one short outing (30–45 minutes) with a bathroom visit before leaving.
Days 6–7: Real World
Normal activities with bathroom trips at every transition: before leaving home, after meals, before nap. Your child should be initiating at least some trips independently by now.
